Keyrails uses Screen Recording permission only to detect keyframe handles in Premiere; it doesn’t record or store any screen or audio data.
No. Keyrails works directly inside Premiere and improves control of the Premiere graph editor. Many editors jump to After Effects because easing curves are easier to control there - Keyrails makes Premiere keyframe editing just as smooth, without ever leaving Premiere.
Keyrails operates at the OS level, so it doesn’t matter which version of Premiere you have. The only requirements are Windows 10 and above, or macOS 14 Sonoma and above.
On both Mac and Windows you’ll first confirm that you trust the download. On Windows there are no further requirements. On Mac, Keyrails needs Screen Recording (to scan for the keyframe handle) and Accessibility (to trigger when you press the hotkey).
Pretty much anything. Our favorite on Mac is just ⌘. Just be aware that if you pick a key you use often in other software, it may trigger the snapping effect when you don’t expect it.
